Aging & Society Scholarly Learning Community

The Aging & Society Scholarly Learning Community is led by Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Todd Logan. It takes a multidisciplinary approach to advance knowledge and investigate the impact of aging from a psychological, biological, and social growth perspective. This learning community emphasizes the importance of leadership and insights from the humanities discipline and will examine various influences on aging in society. Building connections and collaboration within the university and the larger community is an important focus all designed for student success and retention. Learning via teaching, research, and scholarly activities using Catholic, Franciscan, and liberal arts traditions will help this scholarly community thrive. Emphasis is placed on the influence of beliefs on aging and its influence on the individual and community. Research-driven methods of reducing structural ageism will be emphasized. Seminars, journal clubs, community outreach, and service events will further help foster growth and retention within the scholarly community.
