Faculty Research

At MU-COM, research isn't pursued solely for discovery's sake. It's about stimulating growth, promoting innovation, and most importantly, integrating student learning into the process. More than 70 percent of our publications feature student contributions. Our faculty are part of a collaborative ecosystem that’s committed to advancing their fields in tandem with enhancing the student research experience.

This early activity in research, in line with the university's evolved mission, is not confined to traditional boundaries. The spectrum of research at MU-COM encompasses not just basic science research, but also biomedical science, clinical research, the science of teaching and learning, and specific osteopathic medicine research.

MU-COM offers a diverse array of research pathways, much of which takes place in state-of-the-art research facilities, where the inclusion of students is not just an added benefit but the core objective. Faculty members, always on the lookout for new opportunities, are actively enhancing research prospects both within COM and through collaborative efforts with external entities.

All faculty, staff, and students adhere to the College of Osteopathic Medicine's rigorous policies and procedures, ensuring that research is conducted with integrity and excellence.

Research Programs

At MU-COM, curiosity meets opportunity with our wide range of faculty-led, student-driven research programs.

MU-COM faculty are actively involved in various research endeavors, including anatomical, bioethical, clinical, community-based, computational, educational, molecular/cellular, and translational research. MU-COM’s policies and procedures ensure that faculty, staff, and students are conducting research to the highest standards, and producing results that our University is proud to share with the world.
