Biography
Elizabeth Delery, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of microbiology and immunology at 麻豆视频APK鈥檚 School of Osteopathic Medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology with a pre-med concentration from Randolph College (Lynchburg, VA). Dr. Delery continued her education at Tulane University School of Medicine (New Orleans, LA) where she earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in microbiology and immunology. She completed her dissertation entitled, 鈥淐horoid Plexus in AIDS Pathogenesis鈥 in 2019 under the mentorship of Dr. Andrew MacLean at Tulane National Primate Research Center. She was selected for a T32 postdoctoral fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (New Orleans, LA) under the guidance of Drs. Scott Edwards and Patricia Molina where she examined a variety of projects including vasopressin signaling in alcohol-use disorder, neuroinflammation in traumatic brain injuries, and co-morbidities associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection that led to more serious clinical outcomes.
In her free time, Dr. Delery enjoys science communication and sharing her love of all things science to anyone who will listen. As a former rugby player for Tulane, she is excited to be able to attend Marian undergraduate rugby games and check out all the cool hiking/outdoors activities Indianapolis has to offer!
