Welcome to the Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK Health Professions student-run blog—Franc Notes! Franc Notes is a student-run blog-style platform where we, as students, FRANCly write articles about all things health professions! This is a chance for collaboration among all the health professions programs at Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK and to learn more about one another!
Our origins are rooted in the FRANCiscan values Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK upholds, and combine a fun play on words with "SOAP NOTES," a term all healthcare workers will get used to using immediately in their careers for medical record documentation!
If you are a Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK student, staff, or faculty member who would like to contribute an article to Franc Notes, to follow a guided submission process. If you are an alumnus or an interested author, send an email to francnotes@marian.edu to obtain more information!
We want students to use this platform as a chance for career exploration and self-reflection. New issues will be released on Mondays, containing at least one reflection based on an interview with a healthcare professional in a specific specialty. The first series will be entitled "DO Diaries," where osteopathic medical students interview physicians. These articles will be dropped by specialty. For example, our first release month, September, will feature Family Medicine specialty interviews. In addition, other articles that may be published could span anywhere from summer self-reflections, program-specific spotlights, extracurricular opportunities, and concepts in the field of healthcare in general!
We thank you for taking the time to explore Franc Notes! If you are a new student to Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK whose program is housed within the Evans Center, be sure to check out the following article: "Welcome to the Evans Center."
