2025 New Student Orientation Schedules

New Student Orientation schedules

Please see below for a timeline and description of programming at each type of orientation. As we get closer to each program, we will share full schedules with participants.

2026 Two-Day Orientation Schedule

  • Day 1 programming will begin at 10 a.m. and run through the evening for students. Family programming on day 1 will conclude around 4 p.m.
    • Daytime: Programming focused on getting you started on your Marian journey, prepared to thrive, and oriented to campus.
    • Evening: Everything is led by current Marian students and focused on helping you get comfortable at Marian, meet people, have fun, and experience a trial-run of college life.
    • Overnight: Students have the opportunity to stay overnight in Caito-Wagner Hall, one of our first year residence halls on campus.
  • Day 2 programming will run from about 8 a.m. to noon.
    • Morning: Grab breakfast in the dining commons before meeting with your academic advisor, registering, and finishing up some final steps.

2026 One-day Orientation Schedule

  • Programming will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for one-day programs.
    • Morning: Get to know Marian staff, orientation leaders, and fellow incoming students. Then learn the must-know info for the start of your Marian journey.
    • Mid-day: Venture out on campus to meet faculty and students in your major, have lunch in the dining commons, and visit our info fair.
    • Afternoon: Meet with your academic advisor, register for classes, and take care of some other important steps before departing.

2026 Virtual Orientation

  • Programming will take place from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    • All virtual sessions will take place in Webex Webinars. The link to join will be listed in the schedule.
    • Registered students and families will receive an email the week before the program with the schedule, link to join, and more information about how to participate.
    • Sessions are focused on important topics for your transition to Marian and getting you registered for classes.

2026 Transfer Day Orientation

  • Programming will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • Registered students and families will receive an email the week before the program with the schedule, where to check in, and additional information. 
    • Sessions are focused on important topics for your transition to Marian and getting you registered for classes.

What can you expect at orientation?

There are a variety of sessions and activities that acclimate you to Marian and help you build connections with faculty, staff, and other new students. You will:

  • Attend sessions and the Info Fair to learn more about paying for college, living on campus, and everything you'll need to know to get started at MU.
  • Meet your orientation leader, a current MU student who will serve as a guide to your transition to college. 
  • Connect with your program's dean and faculty from your major. Learn more about your degree program during college breakout sessions.
  • Meet with your academic advisor and register for fall classes.

What can you expect during the two-day orientation program?

Take a deeper dive into life at Marian with additional activities offered at two-day orientations:

  • Learn how to navigate challenges of college life with confidence at sessions put on by our current students during College 101.
  • Compete with your orientation group while getting to know all of the hidden secrets and MU traditions during Knightro's Campus Crusade.
  • There's no better way to wrap up a long day than with games, music, dancing, s'mores, beach volleyball, and meeting new people at Knights @ Night.
  • Stay overnight in a residence hall, and get a feel for what its like to live on campus.
